The MacFarlane Woods Nature Reserve is on Cape Breton Island, at Mull River in the hilly country west of Lake Ainslie. It is part of a region known as Ainslie Uplands, which features hills of folded sedimentary rocks rising to 160 meters above sea level.
These trails wind through a landscape that is both rugged and enchanting, offering hikers the opportunity to immerse themselves in the tranquillity of dense forests, open meadows, and the breathtaking vistas of the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
West Mabou Beach Provincial Park on Cape Breton Island is a natural environment park with a beautiful large sandy beach and dune system. The park also consists of several walking and hiking trails a picnic area, change houses, vault toilets and a small interpretive site.
